Abstract

The development of business competition in the logistics industry, especially in the cargo reception service section of PT Sriwijaya Air, must pay attention to the quality of service in receiving cargo in order to achieve customer satisfaction. This study aims to determine the factors that cause cargo irregularity when receiving incoming cargo. This study was conducted using the Fishbone method approach. This study will culminate in an analysis of the root causes of each type of incident studied through a fishbone diagram. Where fishbone is one of the most important tools in process improvement, because at this stage each type of irregularity that occurs can be analyzed and the root cause and solution to the irregularity can be found. This study is a descriptive study, namely research that tends to describe a phenomenon as it is by examining it regularly and strictly, prioritizing objectivity, carried out carefully, no treatment given or controlled, and no hypothesis testing. The primary data processed in this study is the data from brainstorming conducted with PT Sriwijaya Air employees. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from irregularity data that occurred in the incoming cargo acceptance process during January 2017 to May 2017 which was taken through the skychain system in the company, namely Missing cargo 19%, Damage cargo 5.6%, Found cargo 0.85%, Overload cargo 1.05%.
