Abstract

The windshield is subject to factors that can lead to damage or failure, resulting in heating system failure and potentially affecting the pilot's visibility through the front windshield during aircraft control operations in the air. If damage occurs, it can lead to fatal incidents. Therefore, it is crucial to identify potential failure risks and ensure reliability in the windshield. Literature review is a series of activities related to the collection of literature data, reading and note-taking, as well as processing research materials. Literature sources include books, journals, research reports, theses, the internet, and encyclopedias. After inspecting and collecting data on the Boeing 737-800NG windshield, a failure was identified as delamination on windshield No. 1L. This delamination was caused by heat arcing, leading to the separation or splitting of layers in the windshield. Upon discovering the delamination indication, troubleshooting and replacement of windshield No. 1L were carried out. Troubleshooting and replacement procedures should follow the guidelines outlined in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual AMM.
