Abstract

The Serindit V-2 UAV is an unmanned aircraft with a single engine and High wings that has been developed by BPPT. This aircraft has a maximum take- off weight of 150 kg and can fly to a height of 10,000 feet. The airfoil design used on the Serindit V-2 UAV is MH 30. Although previous analysis results show that this aircraft has good aerodynamic performance, further research is needed to improve the aerodynamic performance of the Serindit V-2 UAV. One of the steps taken to achieve this improvement was to add canted winglets to the wing tips. In the Serindit V-2 UAV simulation, canted winglet variations were carried out, namely without canted winglet, 20, 30 and 40 and variations in angle of attack, namely -4, 0, 4, 8, 12 and 16. The simulation results show that variations in the canted winglet angle and attack angle affect the performance of the Serindit V-2. Increasing the winglet canted angle, especially at 40, increases the CL and CL/CD values at the same angle of attack. Optimal results lie at an angle of attack of 4, where lift reaches its peak with low drag. These findings demonstrate the optimal configuration to improve the efficiency and stability of the Serindit V- 2 during flight.
