Abstract

The UAV-Spayer prototype is an unmanned aircraft that has a mission as a fertilizer sprayer on agricultural land. This UAV-Spayer is a quadopter type, namely a UAV that has four motors. The UAV-Spayer prototype based on a quadcopter has a frame that is also very important in its function, namely as a support for components and loads carried by the UAV. In accordance with its function, one of the requirements that must be met by the frame is the requirement for a strong frame to withstand the total heavy load on the UAV. The UAV frame structure consists of two landing skids and four tail booms made of 3003 aluminum and fuselage, motor mounting, and landing skid connections made of E-faberglass material. The configuration used is type X. The load used for the analysis is the lift load where the load is given when the condition is hovering and not maneuvering. The load is a centralized load on each motor mount on the tail boom. The author analyzes this load using CATIA V5R21 software, so that the maximum stress value on the frame is obtained. This maximum stress is used to calculate the frame's safety limit, namely the margin of safety (MS) by comparing the ultimate stress of the material used. The maximum stress obtained from the analysis is 2.1e+006 N/m2 located on the upper canopy in the area where the bolts are installed with a margin of safety of 97.476. The frame manufacturing process consists of several stages, namely the stage of providing tools and materials, the cutting process, and the assembling process.
