Abstract

The navigation system is a system that plays a very important role in aircraft operations. In one of the navigation systems there is a system called the Attitude Heading Reference System AHRS. This system functions to provide information in the form of the aircraft's attitude and heading. In addition, the safety factor is something that is highly considered by the aviation industry in designing an aircraft. Therefore, an analysis called a Safety Assessment is needed. Safety Assessment is an analysis of the safety value of a system function and aircraft component design. The results of the analysis must be in accordance with CASR 23.1309 concerning Equipment, Systems, and Installations. The Safety Assessment Process has 4 methods that will be used in the Safety Flight analysis, including: FHA, PSSA, SSA. In SSA there are several methods. However, this thesis only uses the FHA stage which is analyzed using the Fault Tree Analysis FTA method and compared with the results of the Markov Analysis method. And also added with the creation of Reliability Data and Minimum Cut Set Analysis. After conducting a safety assessment process on the Attitude Heading Reference System AHRS navigation system on the N219 aircraft, the results showed that there were 6 failure conditions in the AHRS. For the Minor, Major and Catastrophic categories, the final results showed that the Attitude Heading Reference System was in accordance with the requirements set out in CASR 23.1309 concerning Equipment, Systems, and Installations. And then the results of the fault tree method were compared with the Markov method. Showing that the results of both are not much different. There is a difference of 1.12888E-15 for Attitude information and 3.11547E-20 for Heading information.
