Abstract
Fire detection system is a system of sensors to detect heat, smoke and fire. This system is one aspect that guarantees aircraft safety and security as an early warning system for fire hazards. Fire detection systems are located in areas that have the potential to experience a fire such as in the engine. The research was conducted by observing the testing of fire detection systems on DC-9 aircraft. Observations concluded that the connection between the electrical connector in the sensing element and the ground is broken caused by a short current in the sensing element. Troubleshooting is based on AMM Chapter 26 of the fire protection system by connecting the electrical connector component on the sensing element to the ground. After troubleshooting, the fire detection system could work properly. The indication of the fire detection system has worked well is that the light loop on the fire detector system panel shows a visual indication in accordance with the normal operation of the fire detection system when performing a loop test
