Abstract

ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter) is a device that emits hazard signals automatically in the event of a violent crash or hitting, using the G-switch as a crash sensor. Can also be manually turned on by the pilot using a remote switch on the cockpit, in case of emergency or testing. This tool is designed to be active in the event of crashes and emit signals that tell the position of self (homing). The price yag expensive and not arbitrary may be used as an obstacle to research. Making ELT prototype is one of solution to do ELT research, because by using this prototype ELT function can be represented, microcontroller is the main controller of industry standard and current research, in addition to cheap price microcontroller is now easier to use than microprocessor and software support and documentation adequate. In the ELT prototype there is a toggle switch that acts as a remote switch that serves to provide power to the ELT prototype and there is a sw-420 sensor that acts as a G-switch to activate the device during a collision. The ELT prototype consists of two modes: 406 modes which can transmit digital data over 433MHz frequency modulator with GFSK (gaussian frequency shift keying) and 121.5 modes that can transmit beacons over the modulated frequency of 136.111MHz ASK (Amplitude Shift Keying) modulation system, both modes can operate for 22 hours with duration of 1 minute each mode, and can be displayed for 406 mode on laptops then for 121.5 mode flare can be heard by HT as hazard tone from ELT
