Abstract

Many fail factor that occur in aircraft. One of the causes of failure is fatigue. One result of fatigue is cracking. Fatigue is one type of damage or failure caused by repeated loads. One result of fatigue is cracking or cracking. The phenomenon of fatigue damage in aircraft construction is a very important problem in the world of aviation, given that this can cause considerable losses. This damage phenomenon can be caused by structural elements that are damaged at a shorter time than the design of the overall construction age. This final project discusses how to analyze the age of a component where it has been assumed that the component uses aluminum 2024-T3 material and aluminum 7075-T7351 assuming that cracked types of single edge crack and center crack tension plate. This analysis aims to create a Matlab-based on program that can calculate the age of the material. This research method is literature study, comparing several methods based on theory, analysis of calculation results using Matlab-based programs, followed by comparing the results of Matlab and D'Crack based programs. D'Crack Software is a device used by PT. Dirgantara Indonesia to find out the age of a component. The results of the study revealed that there were differences in the results of analysis between Matlab-based on programs created with D'Crack software. This difference is mainly due to the unknown method used in D'Crack software, so that there are possible differences in methods used between D'Crack and Matlab based on calculations. For the type of single edge crack, the percentage difference reached 0.439% in aluminum 2024-T3 and 33.604% in Al 7075-T7351. For crack type center crack tension plate the percentage difference reaches 19.562% in aluminum 2024-T3 and 53.821% in Al 7075-T7351. This Matlab based program is correct based on theory.
