Abstract

Reliability in engineering is often used to evaluate the performance of a system or to evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance performed. Aircraft maintenance is carried out to maintain the condition of the aircraft in good condition and airworthy. Reliability can be used to measure the performance of integral aircraft systems such as the reliability of the fuel nozzle component on the Cessna Grand Caravan 208b aircraft, which is a transport aircraft that is still often used for pioneering areas. Therefore, research and evaluation of the level of aircraft reliability during operation are needed, especially on the fuel nozzle component which is one of the components that often fails. The Weibull Distribution Method is one of the methods used to analyze the reliability of the fuel nozzle on the Cessna Grand Caravan 208b aircraft, the first step taken is to collect data on replacement of aircraft components during operation, then calculations are carried out with the aim of determining the failure rate, level of reliability, and effectiveness of maintenance of the system to be analyzed. From the results of the analysis of the reliability calculation of the fuel nozzle component on the Cessna Grand Caravan 208B aircraft, it was found that the failure rate was increasing, with a gradual degradation type proven by the acquisition of the value β = 3.113083523 so that it is included in the category of wear out or wear failure. While the b value obtained with a value of b = 0.321224918 is categorized as serious failure, so special attention is needed for the component. The level of reliability decreases with increasing hours of use. With a component value at 174.6 hours with R = 92.53% and at 429.7 hours with R = 27.76%, the appropriate maintenance is preventive maintenance by carrying out periodic checks or replacements.
