Abstract

Seeing the increasing development of human mobility, the air transportation industry is also trying to improve the quality of service, both passenger service systems and baggage handling. Kokapura Avia, which operates as a ground handling service provider for several airlines such as: Lion Air, Wings Air and Express Air, Kokapura Avia has provided ground handling services and improved the development of Adisutjipto International Airport Yogyakarta. To obtain the desired results, of course the data obtained is very imperfect if only using one research method, so it needs to be reviewed using other methods to determine the information needed. The methods used to collect data are, observation methods, interviews, and the 5 why method. Kokapura Avia in handling passenger baggage for Lion Air is in accordance with the standard operating procedure (SOP), the errors that occur are caused by limited porter officers and time at the transit station, the factors that cause baggage problems are negligence in labeling transportation and negligence at the arrival station. Efforts to improve passenger baggage services are recommended to provide identification on each piece of baggage (name tag) and monitor the movement of baggage in the make up area.
