Abstract

Currently, companies/organizations are faced with extraordinary competition. A superior company/organization must have and implement a superior company/organization work culture. The recognized superior company/organization work culture in the world is the 5S work culture (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu and Shitsuke). The 5S work culture is easy to understand, but very difficult to implement. In Indonesia, so far, from observations, very few have succeeded in implementing the 5S work culture, becoming a habit and work attitude. PT. Sport Glove Indonesia is a company that has implemented the 5S concept and culture, but in its implementation, researchers still find several obstacles that are not in accordance with the 5S concept. Researchers still found several problems including: Drinking places placed on the sewing table, Tissues and Fans placed on the sewing table, Cleaning tools placed carelessly and mixed with materials, Materials placed messily and not arranged according to the code and type of goods, Remaining materials left on the Cutting table, and Places for placing materials that are not sturdy. Based on the above, the author tries to provide input and suggestions to the company so that in the future the concept and culture of 5S in PT. Sport Glove Indonesia will be better. The suggestions are: The company must form a special team or department tasked with implementing and being responsible for the implementation of the 5S concept, The company is required to conduct socialization, seminars, and also 5S concept training to all employees in order to provide understanding and insight into the 5S concept, this is very important to do in order to instill a sense of awareness and responsibility in each employee for the dangers that arise if the 5S concept is not implemented properly, Make clear regulations regarding what PT Sport Glove Indonesia may and may not do. These regulations can be in the form of visual controls such as a ban on littering, smoking, and the obligation to use personal protective equipment while in the PT Sport Glove Indonesia environment. This prohibition can be done by making signs that can be seen by all employees and must be obeyed, Conduct periodic audits of the implementation of the 5S concept. Audits can be carried out once a year or according to company policy. In conducting an audit, the auditor must have predetermined assessment criteria, so that it will facilitate the audit process. Audits can be carried out by going directly and making an assessment.
