Abstract

One of the biggest souures of electrical power for the aircraft is a generator.The working principle of a generator is to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy with the principle of magnetic induction. Generator are installed on each engine an aircraft, for parallel use of electricity between generator one and generator two, electricity must in stable condition of frekuensi and voltage. One of part that can affect output is Constant Speed Drive.Constant Speed Drive functions to maintain the output rotation value from engine into input rotation for generator, in order to be able constant in 6000 revolution/minutes. If there are failed in Constant Speed Drive mechanism then the output rotation that result from Constant Speed Drive can’t get stable condition. The final result is generator can’t produce stable voltage and frequency. Failure in over/underdrive mechanism in Constant Speed Drive can caused by less oil pressure in Constant Speed Drive. Thus, Constant Speed Drive can’t keeep up rotation value in 6000 revolution/minutes for generator supply. This problem can be solved with examination on oil sight level, magnetic plug and the last step is taking action for refill oil on Constant Speed Drive. Refill oil on Constant Speed Drive with approved procedure will make CSD get easy to hydromechanical process. Finally CSD can keep output rotating for supplay in generator with 6000 RPM. The result is Generator can make stable in voltage with 115VAC and frequency with 400 Hz.
