Abstract

Safety is an important factor in aircraft operations. Because of the importance of this, it is necessary to take great maintenance in order to produce optimal performance. The problem faced in this research is the damage that is still within the limits of limitation. The object of research is the Combustion Chamber component of the CFM56-7B Engine. The research used Reliability Centered Maintenance method by combining of Maintenance Steering Group method. This Reliability Centered Maintenance method is used to determine the activities and intervals inspection based on calculations according to the function and systems of Combustion Chamber component. Maintenance Steering Group is used to identify the effect of the exist failures. The results showed the failure that occurred in the combustion chamber was still within the limits of damage. The damage will not endanger safety but have an imapact on economic operations with the result of the aircraft will be effective if operated. Whereas the best type of maintenance performed is On Condition with intervals inspection every 357,89 flight hours after gradual degradation of component.
