Abstract

Energy is an important support in the development of a nation. Along with the development, the need for electricity is increasing, while the electricity source is decreasing.Therefore, it is necessary to innovate power plants that use alternative energy. One potential alternative energy in Indonesia, is the utilization of water energy. One of the uses is the microhydro power plant . The design method began with identifying the discharge data 0.11 m³/s which could drive a pelton type water turbine with a head specification of 56.818 m. From the data, it could be identified the runner specifications with a diameter of 429 mm and a runner width of 129,1528 mm. After that, designing continued to the engine elements such as axle, peg, bearing and transmission system used. From the design, potential that could be generated was 50 kw.
