Abstract

The propulsion system is the driving system of each aircraft, the air as a working fluid is correlated by the system, and the reaction of this acceleration or acceleration produces a force on a system called thrust. As with the actual aircraft, the selection of an improper propulsion system will result in the aircraft not being able to fly perfectly, because the thrust of the aircraft does not work optimally and increases the chance of an aircraft accident. Therefore we need an electric-based unmanned propulsion system test equipment to choose the right propulsion system. The method used in the thesis is practice and analytics to obtain validation and determination of dimensions in the propulsion test equipment that will be assembled with the stages of selecting test propellers and making and testing of the test equipment. To validate the electric-based unmanned aircraft propulsion test equipment by comparing the manufacturer's data and test equipment data with the tests that have been carried out. 14x7 and 12x6 propellers are tested under the same environmental conditions and with rotational speeds ranging from 1000- 8000 rpm. Thrust is measured or compared with the manufacturer data and the average difference obtained from the two results is a maximum of 9,474% and a minimum of 2,093%. In this 14x7 propeller, an average error of 5,170% was obtained while in the 12x6 propeller an error was generated 5,570%. From the average error produced it can be said that the test equipment has good accuracy.
