Abstract

Flying wing whose function is designed to complete the mission of flying at relatively high altitudes with a range of less than 70 km will require a propulsion system. The choice of propulsion system uses a type of electrical engine. This is caused by the relatively small thrust requirement. The object of the research used is a flying wing aircraft where the UAV will be designed to monitor traffic density activities in Yogyakarta. The flying wing UAV aircraft propulsion calculation results where the value of power by propeller is 606,078 Watts, so the selection of the appropriate engine is the electrical engine OS. Brushless Outrunner Motor OMA-5010-810-DK with a power of 1176 Watts, and the battery used is a battery TCB 10000 mAh with a power of 4625 Watts so that based on the results of the thrust test, the thrust value at take-off is 80,08 N, and the thrust value at cruising is 38,44 N, so that in the propeller selection the type of propeller is 16 x 12E which is from thesis Dede's Satria Maulana, has been calculated in previous Design Requirement & Objective studies. From the results of making Maitenance Program on UAV flying wing aircraft consists of maintenance during pre flight inspection and after flight inspection (preventive maintenance), and guidance when damage occurs after the manufacturing process (Corrective Maintenance).
