Abstract

In its application, Air Conditioning System plays an important role in a flight that functions as a condition system in an aircraft. When the aircraft operates, the air conditioning system cannot stop operating. From 13 January 2017 to 7 September 2018, Boeing 737-800 aircraft has been experienced 145 failures of air conditioning systems, therefore further analysis is needed to determine the causes of failure and to implement appropriate actions. Fault Tree Analysis is a technique used to identify risks that contribute to failure. This method is carried out with a Top Down approach, which begins with the assumption that the failure or loss of the top event then details the causes of a top event to a failure Root Cause. After making a fault tree diagram, then an evaluation with a minimum cutset is carried out. The cause of the failure of air conditioning systems on Boeing 737-800 aircraft from the analysis of aircraft maintenance from January 13, 2017 to September 17, 2018 there were 145 times. From the data hold item list the most dominant component of the failure of air conditioning on the Boeing 737-800 is the Temperature Control Valve TCV. The results of the analysis used the Fault Tree Analysis method assuming an unscheduled air conditioning maintenance system as a top event obtained 12 intermediate events using OR logic gates and 34 basic events that enabled the failure of Boeing 737-800 air conditioning systems.
