Abstract

A solar power stove represents alternative assisting appliance in course of cooking used for the requirement of household that its making is not complicated and is relatively cheap (low cost) so that it can economize burden requirement of household especially cooking. In this research, the length of overall bottom part until framework feet of ripe appliance holder is 160 cm and made with iron of hollow type of b with 2x2 cm. The reflector was made by satellite dish with diameter of 74 cm and depth of 7 cm and also mirror of with the size of 2x2 cm. The hanger of reflector was made by iron plate with 3 mm thick and 49 cm long hooked correlated from the frame to reflector. The appliance holder was made by box angle bar with 49 cm high of reflector and 3 cm thick, with flat reflector addition at left side and right with the size of 30x30 cm. The solar power stove tests indicated the conduction heat transfer without additional flat mirror was 81,42 Watt, with one additional flat mirror was 105,15 Watt, and with two additional flat mirrors was 193,47 Watt. The convection without additional flat mirror was 19,47 Watt, with one additional flat mirror was 23,75 Watt, and with two additional flat mirrors was 21,47 Watt. The radiation without additional flat mirror was 384,21 Watt, with one additional flat mirror was 422,71 Watt, and with two additional flat mirrors was 568,31 Watt. The energy efficiency from the solar power stove without additional flat mirror was 6,93%, with one additional flat mirror was 8,13%, and with two additional flat mirrors was 11,13%. The average stove power at the solar power stove without additional flat mirror was 22,33 Watt, with one additional flat mirror was 13,93 Watt, and with two additional flat mirrors was 26,01 Watt. From this study, it could be concluded that the increase of thermal efficiency value or the wider the reflector area, the more efficient the solar power stove. Meanwhile, conduction, convection, and radiation were affected by radiation intensity from the sun and the range of used pan
