Abstract

In an electric circuit, the value of electric power and the power factor must be properly monitored because it will affect the cost of electricity expenditure. By using a power meter and an electric power factor, the measurement of the power value can be carried out precisely. So that the accurate power value of an electric circuit can be measured accurately, it will also be measured accurately the power factor value. Therefore a digital wattmeter is needed in order to measure the power value and power factor accurately and so that it can be further developed. In this study, enter the current passed to the ACS 712 current sensor with a value of 2.5 volts and forwarded to the ADC 1 pin. Furthermore, the data sampling process is on the 18th cycle with a sampling frequency of 64 times in one wave period. After the current and voltage sampling data are obtained, the RMS current and voltage values can be calculated. The rated power and power factor are calculated using the power calculation program and the power factor calculation program. The test results show that this system can measure apparent power, active power and power factor with a current of 1 ampere to 5 amperes and an input voltage of 100 volts to 300 volts with an input frequency of 45 Hz to 156 Hz. This system has a linear load average error of 0.02% active power, 0.44% power average error, 0.32% power factor average error, and has unity power factor properties. Nonlinear loads have an average error of 1.86% active power, 0.47% apparent power, 0.21% average power factor error and have lagging power factor properties.
