Abstract

n interrogating the identity and altitude of the aircraft, the radar interrogates using certain modes. The mode used to interrogate the aircraft's identity is A mode, while the mode used to interrogate the aircraft's altitude is C mode. The beam of A mode and C mode interrogations from the radar will be answered by the transponder on the aircraft and sent back to the radar in the form of answer codes (reply codes). On radar, the answer codes for the identity and altitude of the aircraft are still decoded using a decoder device. In this study, the authors will design a program in simulation to know how to process and read reply codes for A mode and C mode radar based on android. This simulation is made with Input in the form of sample answers from transponders that are entered manually in the form of numbers 0 and 1 on the android application screen. When running this simulation application, the first step that needs to be done is to choose the mode to be simulated in the application menu display. After selecting the mode, then enter the next display is to enter the answer codes as input, then just select the command "simulate". After selecting the simulate command, the program will automatically display the results of the aircraft's identity in the form of a squawk number for A mode and the height of the aircraft for simulation results in C mode. Based on the results displayed by this simulation then the author ensures that this simulation is successful. The author compares the values analyzed with simulation result have the same results. For example, in analyzed for A mode, the squawk number is 1344, when the simulation enters the same input it also gets a value of 1344. As well as C mode simulation example, theoretically and simulating the calculation results for the height of the aircraft with the same code input gets the same result is 32,800 feet.
