Abstract

Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft is an aircraft that uses a Nitrogen Generation System to cool the center fuel tank in order to minimize the occurrence of heat which could cause an explosion in the center fuel tank. Analysis of failures that occur in the Nitrogen Generation System NGS is based on observations and information obtained from field instructors and mechanics. Apart from using observation methods, this research also uses analytical methods to find the cause of the problem with the degraded nitrogen generation system on the Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft. The analysis method used is Fault tree analysis method to identify failures, where the aircraft experienced nitrogen generation system degradation caused by the NGS filter blocked.Analysis using the FTA method, resulted in damage to the NGS filter with the condition of the filter being blocked.
