Abstract

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) can produce quite high noise when they are in operation. The main factor that causes noise in Unmanned Aerial Vehicles is the interaction between the propeller and the air. The noise can certainly disturb comfort and health, as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Environment Number: KEP-48/MENLH/11/1996 regarding Noise Level Quality Standards that can be discharged for green open space area is 50 dB (A). In steady conditions where the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle is not moving forward, the noise will be heard most clearly in accordance with the direction of flow generated by the propeller (behind the PUNA). This thesis examines the noise level generated by the CITIUS IAC PUNA presented in the form of Leq data and the direction of noise propagation (noise directivity). Using the experimental method, testing the noise level produced by the PUNA CITIUS IAC was carried out at the ITD Adisutjipto Yogyakarta Ball Field. Measurements were made in two motor conditions, namely low speed ground idle (60-70% Rpm) and maximum power (100% Rpm). In addition, measurements were also made with several distances and angle variations, namely 3, 5 and 7 meters, as well as at angles of 90, 135, 180, 225 and 270. Noise level measurements were carried out using a Sound Level Meter (SLM) by observing SNI 7231 as a measurement procedure. The experimental results show that when the motor is in idle condition, the noise level test results in an overall Leq value of 75.2 dB(A). Meanwhile, when the motor is at maximum power, the noise level test results in an overall Leq value of 92.1 dB(A). And the direction of noise propagation (noise directivity) shows the highest value at an angle of 180 . This is because PUNA CITIUS IAC has a propeller pusher engine configuration so that the direction of air flow is centered at an angle of 180 or in aerodynamics referred to as wake or turbulence.
