Abstract

Pitch attitude is one of the most important parameters in aviation. Pitch attitude is the angle between the longitudinal axis of the aircraft and the horizon line. During flight, changes in pitch attitude are vital to maintain flight stability and safety. In addition, pitch attitude is also indispensable for maneuvering and other operations in flight. This research presents the design of pitch attitude control on Boeing 747-400 aircraft which is required to overcome the longitudinal dynamic characteristics that are quite long in time by using Sugeno type fuzzy logic controller. In designing the pitch attitude system, it starts with processing the longitudinal motion parameter data, then the data is used to find the transfer function. After the transfer function is obtained, it will be converted into a state space. After the state space is obtained, the next step is to design the luenberger observer controller. After the luenberger observer is obtained, the next step is to design a Sugeno type fuzzy logic controller where this fuzzy logic controller functions as a substitute for the luenberger observer controller. The results of the analysis in this study show that in the initial state the fuzzy logic controller with 3 Gaussian membership functions reached an overshoot value of 12.26%, which is lower than the fuzzy logic controller with 3 triangular membership functions and with the luenberger observer controller.
