Abstract

Air Turbine Starter (ATS) is a component that has an important role in the aircraft operating system for aircraft starters. The Air Turbine Starter component of the Boeing 737-900ER has a type of On Condition and Condition Monitoring (OCCM) maintenance program, where maintenance flight hours need to be monitored through unscheduled removal. The Covid-19 pandemic that occurred in Indonesia influenced changes in operational mechanisms and aircraft maintenance, such as aircraft utilization per day and aircraft routes. The purpose of this resource is to determine the average serviceable age and calculate the inventory of Air Turbine Starter components before and when the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method used is the Weibull distribution to find the Mean Time Between Unscheduled Removal (MTBUR). Inventories of Air Turbine Starter (ATS) components before and during the Covid-19 are calculated using the Poisson Distribution method. Then analyzed the factors that affect the amount of component inventory needed before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The average serviceable age of ATS components before the Covid-19 pandemic was 20964 hours and during the Covid-19 pandemic it was 24640 hours. The inventories of ATS components needed before the Covid-19 pandemic were 8 components, while during the pandemic Covid-19 there were 9 components. This difference is influenced by the TAT during the pandemic which took almost twice as long as before the pandemic. The ATS component maintenance program that is OCCM also affects unscheduled removal from inspections based on whichever comes first between FH, FC, or calendar dates.
