Abstract

One of the most important factors in transportation is passengers. Without passengers, transportation is of no use. Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, East Java is one of the airports with a relatively high number of passengers. So that the potential for passenger movement, especially air transportation in Surabaya is very large.This study aims to determine the potential for movement of domestic passengers at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya until 2025. Calculation of the potential in this study uses the method of correlation analysis and multiple linear regression, using the dependent variable number of domestic passengers and five independent variables, those are number of population, number tourists, the number of students, the number of workers, and the amount of income per capita. For dependent variable data obtained from PT. Angkasa Pura 1 (Persero). Meanwhile, independent variable data were obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics for the City of Surabaya and the Central Bureau of Statistics for East Java Province. All data used is data from 2011 to 2018. From the calculation results, it can be concluded that the factor that most influences the movement of passengers is the number of populations. The influence of population on the number of passengers is shown by the correlation coefficient (R) of 0,933 and the determination value (R2 ) of 0,871. Then for the results of calculating the movement of potential domestic passengers in 2025 at Juanda International Airport in Surabaya, there are as many as 22,858,827 people.
