Abstract
APU (Auxillary Power Unit) is one of the supporting parts installed on an aircraft. APU works to provide power when starting the initial engine, besides, APU also is provide to run the engine when the engine is not in used or in off condition. However, APU still has shortcomings that can cause problems. The problem is a fire in the APU caused by several damaged components or short circuits. To prevent and overcome fires in the Auxillary Power Unit is that by testing the parts such as sensing elements, wiring, connectors, loop fire detection, horn, container agent and fire detector control unit. At the time of testing, there is damage to the fire detector control unit, cartridge, and light container container with the indication the lights are not lit on the indicator, and loud noises that sound on fire horn. After that, troubleshooting is done by replacing all damaged components and replaced with new ones. Replacement of new components follows the procedures of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual ATA Chapter 26 to facilitate testing again. After testing, troubleshooting and then re-testing, The results obtained are all components that are working properly. The indication at the time of testing, all the indicator such as low agent lights and loop light are on
