Abstract

The navigation system is very important in the world of aviation. Navigation system makes the plane not get lost in the aviation world because it provides information about the direction of the plane, heading of the aircraft, the existence of the aircraft, the height of the aircraft, and so on. This will be the most important part if the weather is bad where the pilot's visibility is limited to the surrounding conditions. One of the landing guidance systems on the aircraft is the instrument landing system. Every system on the aircraft must experience a failure. Therefore, it is necessary to have troubleshooting actions to deal with the damage. One of the problems that occurs is that the flag circuits malfunctioning on the glide slope system and marked by a warning flags that always appears on the flight director indicator and the course indicator. The troubleshooting process is carried out based on AMM DC-9 chapter 34. At this stage there is an inspection process such as resistance and continuity in the glide slope system, removal and installation of components, then the adjustment process, and testing on the glide slope system. When both the localizer and glide slope signals are emitted, then the warning flags on the glide slope are not visible on FDI and CI instruments, then the trouble is considered to be resolved. Warning flags will appear if the signal is lost or weak
