Abstract

High frequency communication system HF is a communication system that uses radio wave frequencies between 3-30 MHz in transmitting and receiving. This communication used for long distance communication. High frequency waves could be reflected by the earth's ionospheric layer. But this high frequency communication has the disadvantage of noise. Besides that, the power needed by McDonnell Douglas DC-9 high frequency aircraft could be as high as 400 watts, so if the power received by the transceiver is lacking, it will result in a weak or intermittent high frequency system. One way to find out if the high frequency performance is weak or intermittent is troubleshooting the components that are connected to the operation of the high frequency system. It could be done by checking or replacing components that may be the cause of high frequency weak or intermittent with components that are still serviceable, then do the analysis, completion and testing of the troubleshooting found. Troubleshooting on high frequency occurs due to an error in the antenna coupler accessory unit that experiences high resistance on the R50-164 and P10- 124 receptacles. Troubleshooting can be done by following the procedures in aircraft maintenance management AMM sequentially until the components function properly again.
