Abstract
Composite materials are already very rapidly developing in the world of engineering. One use of composites is to combine two or more different composite components in order to fill the shortcomings of each other or often referred to as hybrid composites. One type of hybrid composite that is very potential is the hybrid lamina composite, because the hybrid lamina composite itself is a composite that can combine several reinforcing fibers with several layers that can be varied very widely both from the side of the angular direction, variety of fibers, and so forth. Natural fiber pineapple leaves have a tensile strength of 356 - 432 Mpa where with the value of the tensile strength of natural fibers pineapple leaves have good potential because it is very abundant at a low price to be made fiber in composites but need to be done further research From the discussion above, this study refers to the manufacture of composite lamina hybrid with natural fibers pineapple leaves and fiberglass whit matrix epoxy intended to obtain data on the influence of the angle direction of pineapple leaf fibers to bending strength in accordance with the standards that have been determined before. Based on bending strength tests that have been conducted on hybrid composite specimens of fiberglass and pineapple leaf fibers that have been conducted with variations in the angle of pineapple leaf fibers. So obtained the largest bending strength value in the direction of pineapple angle fibers 0°, where with an average bending strength value of 194.4175 Mpa. This can happen because pineapple leaf fibers with an angle of 0° is a direct longitunal axis with the x-axis, where the longitudinal axis is an axis perpendicular to the direction of the coming vertical force that is weighed by the bending test machine so that it can withstand the load very well. The price of strength in the direction of the 45° angle of pineapple leaf fiber can be said to be a critical angle because it is the angle with the weakest bending power with an average bending strength value of 132,4451 Mpa on this hybrid composite of fiberglass and leaf fiber.
