Abstract

Passenger oxygen system is one of systems in aircraft. Passenger oxygen system supplies oxygen to passenger when emergency occasion in aircraft. This emergency occurred when cabin altitude reach 14.000 feet because humanbreath normally get oxygen supply on 5.000 until 8.000 feet above sea level. In passenger oxygen system maintenance, there are some procedure which are testing and in the implementation it is not rare to find malfunction. One of malfunction in this system is PASS OXY ON light on and passenger oxygen mask deployed when cabin pressure normal while PASS OXY switch was not moved. In this research, method that used is troubleshooting which is taken from FIM (Fault Isolation Manual) for automatic deployment system and manual deployment system is done. This inspection includes testing on passenger oxygen system to find possible causes of PASS OXY ON turned on when in normal condition in oxygen passenger system. After troubleshooting, trouble found that PASS OXY switch is short. Replacement of PASS OXY switch is done to fix the problem. After replacement done, PASS OXY ON light turned off which means PASS OXY ON switch operated normally.
