Abstract
A pylon is a tool used to place the engine on an aircraft transport/commercial. Meanwhile, in fighter aircraft the pylon is used for put bullets, bombs, or drop tanks. The pylon is the engine connection to the engine wings. In this research, the pylon engine was designed using software based on finite element analysis (FEA) using the Autodesk Inventor program to make a model of the engine pylon. Then the data is exported in the extension to be compatible with the ANSYS Static Structural Software that produces it data in the form of displacement, von-Mises stress and stress analysis on the engine pylons. To carry out this simulation, it must first be defined First, the material properties that will be used are Ti-6AI-4V titanium material Due to its high strength to weight ratio and good corrosion resistance Very good. From the simulation results, a load of 1.5 n (sideward) has a stress of 215 Mpa, 3 n (upward) has a stress of 260 Mpa and 9 n (forward) has stress 486 Mpa. Simulation of stress against loads of 1.5 n, 3 n and 9 n using ANSYS Static Structural software shows that the engine The pylon has the highest stress yield at 9 n with a load of 1,415,700 lbs while the 3 n has a load of 471,900 lbs and the 1.5 n has a load of 235,950 lbs. Based on the calculation of the margin of safety, the engine pylon structure at the time emergency landing with the largest load, namely 9 n, the value is 1.26. So it can be concluded that the engine pylon structure is safe for landing load factor 9 n in accordance with the specifications of the Boeing 737-900ER aircraft
