Abstract
Flap position indicator is one of the part of trailing edge flap indicating system which is installed on the Boeing 737-800 Ng airplane that has function to show the position of trailing edge flaps on the left wing and right wing. Flap position indicator uses two needles to show the trailing edge flaps position. The trailing edge flaps position that showed by the needles are UP, 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 25, 30, and 40 unit. This system has several problems. One of them is the needles on that indicator do not operate or known as needles do not operate problem. It necessary to perform a troubleshooting process to overcome that problem above. The way to overcome the needles do not operate problem on flap position indicator at Boeing 737-800 NG are start from do an operational test on trailing edge flap system and do a wiring problem check between flap position indicator and Flap/Slat Electronics Unit (FSEU). After the wiring problem check is done, it founded that there is a trouble on flap position indicator. Therefore, according to Fault Isolation Manual TASK 27- 51-841 to overcome/troubleshoot this problem is by replacing flap position indicator with a the serviceable one. After the flap position indicator replacement is done, it is required to perform an operational test on trailing edge flap system again. When conducting an operational test, the needles on the flap position indicator can operate normally and certainty. This shows that the system and component return in serviceable condition and ready to be used
