Abstract

In the era of technology like now many people take advantage of advantage technology such as Android smartphone. Smartphone can indeed be used to meet some information. However, there is some information that is very difficult to find if you only rely on smartphone. One them is information about events in DIY. Therefore, the researchers took the initiative to build an application that could become a medium to inform the time and place of the event being held to the public. The development of this application aims to make it easier for admins to provide event notifications to users through the android app. This application is created using Java programming language and MySQL database. In addition there is also the use of Google Maps Android API to display maps on the Android application. This application can display a list of events that will take place where in the event list there is information about the event such as the date, time and place of the event and there is also a map location where the event will take place. The application of use of geofence for notification of Android-based events is expected to help the public to get information about events that will be held in DIY.
