Abstract

The hydraulic system is an important part of a flight that functions as a medium for moving systems related to other components, such as moving the landing gear, nose wheel steering, flap or speedbrake using fluid pressure hydraulic. Safety in the aircraft hydraulic system is one of the main keys during flight. During the operation of the F 16 C aircraft, problems often occur with the hydraulic system components of the aircraft. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the causes of hydraulic system failure on the F 16 C aircraft using the fault tree analysis method. To solve the above problems, the Fault Tree Analysis FTA method is used, which is a method for measuring and analyzing failures. This method focuses on analyzing a failure and provides a method to find the cause of the failure. FTA uses a block diagram method that displays various possibilities that cause an event / failure in stages and stages like branches on a tree. There are two main logic symbols used, namely Boolean logic AND gate and OR gate. Then an evaluation is carried out by determining the minimum cut set. The causes of hydraulic system failures on F 16 aircraft are 115 times. Based on the results of the analysis using the fault tree analysis method with the failure of the hydraulic operation system fail as the top event, 13 intermediate events using the OR logic gate and 17 basic events caused the failure of the hydraulic system on the F 16 C aircraft.
