Abstract

Sultan Hasanuddin Airport currently has runway dimensions of 3100 meters long and 45 meters wide (AIP Data, 2021). Sultan Hasanuddin Airport is also one of the airports in Indonesia as an embarkation for Hajj and Umrah flights. Umrah flights at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to Medina (MED) and also to Jeddah (JED) use Airbus A330-900 aircraft owned by Lion Air. However, Umrah flights using Airbus A330-900 aircraft at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport with a runway length of 3,100 meters have not been able to be carried out optimally, thus making Umrah flights with the Airbus A330-900 aircraft type need to be limited in operational weight, this is evidenced based on data from the study of weight restrictions on operational permits for Airbus A330-900 aircraft to operate on the Sultan Hasanuddin Airport runway. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of runway length and analyze the feasibility of runway PCN, the expected output of this study is as a reference for runway development at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport. This research uses the ARFL method to analyze the feasibility of runway length and uses the ACN-PCN calculation method to analyze the feasibility of runway PCN. From the results of this study, it was found that the minimum runway length required by the Airbus A330-900 aircraft to take-off under maximum take-off weight conditions at Sultan Hasanuddin Airport using the ARFL method was 3,552 meters long. On the results of the PCN runway feasibility analysis, it was found that the PCN runway was feasible or able to support the operation of the Airbus A330-900 aircraft under maximum take-off weight conditions. In the results of the RESA dimension analysis, it was found that the RESA length dimension did not meet the ICAO requirements based on the current Sultan Hasanuddin Airport aerodrome reference code.
