Abstract

The air conditioning system is a system used to regulate temperature, pressure, humidity, and air circulation in the aircraft cabin. Therefore, maintenance in the air conditioning system component of the aircraft is very concerned so that it is always in a flightworthy condition. For this reason, it is necessary to analyze the causes of failure of the components in the air conditioning system of the Boeing 737- 800 NG aircraft. Failure analysis in this study using the Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) method, this study tested several components that failed based on historical data, the FMECA method uses two failure mode analyses, namely Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Criticality Analysis (CA), FMEA is done by identifying potential failures, for CA is done by calculating the results of FMEA testing. Based on the results of the analysis using the Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) method, namely the calculation of the RPN value which gets the largest value, namely the Air Cycle Machine component of 315, and the results of determining the lowest CA value, namely the Pack Overheat Switch component with a ranking value of 7,798 and which gets the highest criticality ranking value, namely the Air Cycle Machine component of 32,919. So these components must be prioritized in carrying out maintenance activities because they have a very high risk.
