Abstract

Delays or flight delays occur in air traffic movements during peak hours, this could potentially lead to conditions where flights have to experience holding/queuing when landing or taking off. Holding is delaying landing by circling or circling the airport to wait for landing before getting landing permission from Air Traffic Control ATC. Holding does not only have a negative impact on passengers which will directly or indirectly reduce the comfort of passengers as service users, besides that holding also has an impact on service providers airlines because it will harm time and increase operational costs, especially for additional fuel costs when holding occurs.This study aims to calculate operational costs Operational Cost for Lion Air airlines for the Ngurah Rai International Airport DPS-Soekarno Hatta International Airport route during the holding period for the period December 2022-January 2023. This study use Library Research Method for the calculation of operational costs, it is obtained from processing arrival data holding aircraft based on aircraft type, flight route, time for holding holding time obtained from calculating the difference in Estimated Time Of Arrival ETA and Actual Time Of Arrival ATA which will then be used to calculate additional costs for fuel consumption when holding. From the results of the study it can be concluded that the cause of the holding of flights on the Ngurah Rai International Airport DPS-Soekarno-Hatta International Airport was due to the dense air traffic which coincided with the High Season Nataru holiday for the period December 2022-January 2023. Additional fuel costs Operational Cost 4 times the holding with an average time of 9.5 minutes. Obtained holding cost during December 2022-January 2023 with an average expenditure of IDR 1,080,052/minute.
