Abstract

Business competition between airlines in Indonesia is very tight, so that in order to survive, an airline is required to be able to produce high efficiency and effectiveness. One effort to increase efficiency and effectiveness is by selecting an aircraft with low operational costs. With low operational costs, a higher level of profit can be obtained. This study aims to determine the right type of aircraft in terms of flight operational costs for the Yogyakarta - Karimunjawa route by calculating the amount of direct operational costs (DOC) and estimating indirect operational costs (IOC). Determination of the type of aircraft by comparing aircraft operational costs, the aircraft chosen is the aircraft with the lowest operational costs. The type of data used is quantitative data, namely data in the form of numbers or figures. The method used is the comparative method, namely comparing and analyzing three aircraft, then adjusting it to the needs of the intended route and analyzing the costs needed for aircraft operations. For the Yogyakarta - Karimunjawa route, the Cessna 208 Caravan aircraft has the lowest operational cost of Rp 8,744,003 and the lowest ticket price of Rp 961,842.
