Abstract
Electricity can be obtained from several sources. One of them is the battery as a DC current source on the plane. There are several types of batteries that are used on the plane. Selection of the type of battery that is used on the aircraft depends on battery performance. This type of battery is determined by the type of material used in the battery construction. There are different type of battery, one of them is NICAD or Nickel Cadmium. In addition to backup energy, the battery can also be used for aircraft instrument power sources and aircraft starting. Battery is usually used when the generator on the plane does not work or fail. Battery converts chemical energy into electrical energy when working and changes chemical energy into electrical energy when charging. Before performing battery maintenance we must first check the battery voltage. If a failure occurs, the battery must be unloaded during battery maintenance. Electrolyte filling is done 20 minutes before the finish time is finished. When the battery is damaged, the dissassembly process is carried out. The testing process is done to determine the damage caused by the battery. In the link short process, it is important to do the re-torque. In the burn out process, it is necessary to dismantle the battery to find out which cell is burning.
