Abstract
The house is a place to store valueables that must be protected from crimes such as a thieft. This device is designed to helps the homeowner to monitor his house when the homeowner is not at home by sending notification when there is a motion detected. This security device using PIR sensor as motion detector that linked on NodeMCU as Wi-fi module that can connects this device to the internet. This device is equipped with LED and buzzer as indicator and can sends a notification to user’s smartphone while there is a motion detected using blynk platform installed on smartphone. This device can detects human motion, animal motion and thing moved but it can’t detects if there is a not transparent barrier. The detection range of this device up to 900 centimeters with angle of detection up to 120o. The time needed for send and receive notification on Blynk is about 0,3 – 2,2 second however the time can be affected by internet connectifity. The result of this study is motion detector with PIR motion sensor that can improves security system by implementing internet of things technology
