Abstract
Wireless communication systems today become a trend for the information society. This is not apart from the communication needs with high mobility and low cost. One of them is Wireless Local Area network with IEEE 802.11 standard. WLAN is a communication technology that uses radio transmission utilizing free space as a transmission line. Transmitted signal strongly influenced by distance, frequency, power transmitter, receiver sensitivity, and antenna gain. In the process of transmitting data from the sender to the receiver occurs loss, in order to avoid loss it needs a good Quality of Service, and wide coverage area. The purpose of this study is to analyze the QoS data, calculate coverage area and receiver power and than compare the results of theoretical calculations with the measurement results. The analysis result shows the average throughput value for each data rate is 6 Mbps, 15 Mbps and 35 Mbps of 383.8 kbps, 328.2 kbps and 329.8 kbps. The result average delay is 5.28 ms, 4.81 ms and 4.66 m. The result average packet loss 2.83%, 2.66% ms and 2.16%.The result average jitter 0.036 ms, 0.032 ms and 0.014 ms. With a maximum measured coverage area of 123 meters, in line of sight conditions. The difference between theoretical receive power and measured receive power between 13.52 % to 28.82 % is found.
