Abstract
Energy needs for cooking are needed by all houses. On the other hand, solar energy for Indonesia is abundant, especially during the dry season. The use of solar power for households is very appropriate. The success of using this solar stove depends on the size and duration of solar radiation intensity or in other words depending on the weather. In this research, the test was carried out by making a collector with plasterboard material with a collector area of 30 cm x 30 cm plus an insulating material such as cork and aluminum foil that has been painted black. Then, the series of 30 cm convex lenses was made for the focal point of the light of the fire that arrived at the collector. The test was carried out in an open field with temperatures range between 28° C to 33° C with an attempt to heat 1,5 liters water. The intensity of solar radiation during the testing ranged between 148 W/m² to 847 W/m². The analysis and discussion resulted in the design of a solar stove used to perform performance tests (power and thermal efficient). The test results concluded that solar-powered stoves could produce power from 31,50 Watt to 56,00 Watt. Meanwhile, the thermal efficiency obtained from the average useful energy and the average incoming energy was 10,64 %.
