Abstract

Turbofan engine is a development of the turbojet engine with air mass addition method to increase thrust with more economical fuel consumption than other engine. Nowadays, turbofan engine can still be optimized by increasing the FPR (Fan Pressure Ratio), Bypass Ratio, and TIT (Turbine Inlet Temperature), so the thermodynamics analysis for turbofan engine is needed to determine whether the engine can be optimized or not. Thermodynamics analysis process that needs to be done is calculating the GE-90 engine performance at B777-200 by varying the FPR value, bypass ratio value and TIT value at cruising condition to determine the total thrust, thrust specific, and TSFC (Thrust Specific Fuel Consumption). This calculation is done by Excel and the output is thermodynamics analysis graph that used as a comparison to determine the deviation from excel calculation and real engine GE 90 data. From the performance analysis calculation, it can be concluded that the output increased until the FPR value was 1,7. The total Thrust and Specific Thrust increased but the TSFC decreased. As bypass ratio (B) increased, the total thrust, specific thrust and TSFC decreased but on B 9,3 the TSFC increased. As TIT increased, the thrust total and specific thrust increased but TSFC decreased until the value was 1300 K and increased after that point
