Abstract
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle UAV is an unmanned aircraft controlled using a remote control. GO DRONE STTA is one type of UAV with fly wing characteristics designed for aerial photography. Wing is an important component in UAV because it produces lift. Wings experience the greatest load when the lift occurs. GO DRONE STTA has a structure of skin, core, and spar. Its constituent materials are e glass epoxy on skin, styrofoam on core, and carbon in spar. To find out the power of structures on the GO DRONE STTA wing, an analysis is conducted to determine the stress that occurs on the wing when flying. The wings of GO DRONE STTA also need the proper maintenance in order to keep them in correct functioning for a long time. The process of modeling the wings is performed by using MSC Patran Nastran 2012 software with some stages including import, meshing, input properties, loading and support then analysis process. From the result of stress analysis, then calculation will be done to know the value of margin of safety on isotropic element and failure indices on composite element. The results of failure indices can be seen in MSC Patran Nastran software. After the analysis process using MSC Patran Nastran software, it showed that the highest stress results found on the component skin structure of Y is 5.5 MPa with the value of failure indices is 0.000503. The margin of safety value for the cores is 40.354 with a stress value of 0.0155 MPa. On the spar, it is found that the value of failure indices is 0.000454 with the highest stress value of 5.5 MPa. Appropriate maintenance concepts in the UAV GO DRONE STTA include scheduled maintenance and unscheduled maintenance. For scheduled maintenance there are stages such as pre flight inspection, after flight inspection, 10 flight inspection, and 40 flight inspection. Meanwhile for unscheduled maintenance is performed when there is an incident or sudden damage.
