Abstract

UKM Rudy Bordir is one of the companies engaged in the field of embroidery, and accepts embroidery production orders based on orders or make to order. There are 3 types of defects in embroidery attribute products in UKM Rudy Bordir, namely wrinkled embroidery defects, damaged line embroidery and wrong thread color embroidery. In this study, the quality control method used is the Seven Tools method which is used to identify the causes of product defects so that quality can be controlled and the New Seven Tools method to map problems in a structured manner, to help improve production quality. Based on data processing, it was obtained that the types of defects that were prioritized for improvement were the types of wrong thread color embroidery defects of 360 pcs with a percentage of 42.40%, damaged line embroidery defects of 342 pcs with a percentage of 40.28% and wrinkled embroidery defects of 147 pcs with a percentage of 17.31%. The solution/improvement to the existing problems is to improve the performance of workers/operators by creating standard operating procedures (SOP) in working and conducting work evaluations, controlling/inspecting raw materials to be used, checking and maintaining machines periodically and improving the work environment.
