Abstract

Engine is a device that has the ability to convert heat energy by combustion by fuel into motion energy. Turbofan engine is a type of engine that is widely used in aircraft today because it has a high efficiency value. CFM56-7B turbofan engine type is the type of engine that is widely used in commercial aircraft today. There is a Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) component on the CFM56-7B engine. In Low Pressure Turbine (LPT) there is a very important supporting component, the Rear Frame LPT. To continue to function properly the Rear Frame LPT must be maintained within a certain time. The inspection process on the LPT Rear Frame is to do the process of disassembly on the LPT Rear Frame component. Then after the disassembly process, the parts of the LPT Rear Frame component will be visually checked. The types of damage that occur in the LPT Rear Frame include burn, dent, and crack. The damage was caused by Foreign Object Damage (FOD) and Life Limited Part (LLP). In the process of inspecting components that have damaged the LPT Rear Frame is an oil collector, the type of damage is crack. Furthermore, these components will be replaced with new components (condemned). This is based on the Engine Shop Manual (ESM) CFM56-7B subtask 72-51-01-220-081-0) Inspection Oil Collector Low Pressure Turbine Rear Frame
