Abstract

Weather radar is a type of weather radar installed on the plane and has the ability to detect the intensity of rainfall and bad weather. Aircraft radar systems are connected to the cockpit display system on the navigation display, this can help pilots to find out the intensity of rainfall and bad weather. So that the pilot can know the weather conditions during the flight and can make quick decisions in case of bad weather. The components in the weather radar system are included in the component condition monitoring category. This system has several problems namely the appointment of a message file on Multi Function Display (MFD) weather radar of ATR 72-600 aircraft. The way to overcome the presence of the message file designation in Multi Function Display (MFD) weather radar ATR 72-600 aircraft is to perform operational tests on the weather radar system. After the operational test found the problem is that there is a failure message WX FAIL on MFD. Based on Trouble Shooting Manual (TSM) ATR 72-600 If such failure message is found, the next step is to check last flight Report on Multipurpose Control and Display Unit (MCDU). In the last flight report is a failure message type RAI 7SQ. According to Trouble Shooting Manual (TSM) to overcome the failure message type RAI 7SQ is by replacing receiver transmitter antenna on weather radar. After the receiver transmitter antenna component in weather radar repaired, the component is mounted again to the plane and performed operational test. After the operational test is not found failure message on MFD, it indicates the system and components are already serviceable so that it can be reused
