Abstract

Outer Wing serves as a place to attach ailerons, flaps, and others that are connected to the wing. The problem in this research is in its structure which aims to find out the problems that exist in the Outer Wing. How to determine the damage that is in the Outer Wing structure by inspecting the structure. Then the table will be given to the structure that is experiencing problems using the FMEA method. The results obtained in this analysis in the form of a failure mode such as the outer wing cannot accommodate the fuel where the cause of the failure is the installation of uneven sealants and the skin fuel tank menagalami dent. For each failure to get RPN values 12 and 6 while for the failure mode contained in the aileron, the flap cannot be attached to the effect of not being able to connect these 2 parts to the outer wing. The cause of this failure is due to the improper fitting of the fitting parts and the corrosion of the fitting bushes, for each of these failures the RPN values are 30 and 60. After getting the value of each failure, corrective action will be taken.
