Abstract
High Pressure Compressor (HPC) is an important component of the engine, because to increase the air pressure that will go into the combustion. However, this component has a problem, that is damage in the blade. The purpose of this study is to know what damage in the blade high pressure compressor along with the causes and how to resolve them. The way to find out the damage that is on the HPC blade by means of borescope inspection. Then the process of measuring the damage found and obtained a nick of 0.03 inch (0.76 mm) and missing material of 0.03 inch (0.94 mm). Based on the engine shop manual (ESM) Task 72-31-03-300-001, blades that are damaged can still be repaired by the blending method. The final nick result after blending is 0.03 inch (1 mm) and missing material is 0.05 inch (1.3 mm) and still within its limits. The next process is balancing to balance the high pressure compressor rotor blade and after the balancing process is complete it is declared serviceable
