Abstract
Recently human needs for energy constantly increases due to factors of population that keeps growing. There is a lot of energy that contains and is available on this Earth, but humans are more likely to use energy from fossil fuels that we often see such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel, natural gas and coal. Therefore, finding and creating alternative renewable energy is the key solution of the problems that caused by the depletion of fossil fuel energy. Solar energy is an alternative energy without pollution, and is easily obtained. One of the alternatives to use solar energy is solar power stoves. Solar power stove is an alternative tool in the cooking process that used for household needs. The purpose of this study was to design and build a solar power stove from a parabolic dish and do testing from the results of the design of solar power stoves. The results of production process of solar power stoves is the length of the frame of the stove is 23 cm and the diameter is 4.71 cm, the length of the shaft stove 35.5 cm and a diameter is 4.2 cm, height of the cooking utensil holder is 66.5 cm and the reflector used a parabolic dish with a 76 cm of diameter, depth 8.6 cm and a flat mirror with size of 1 x 1 cm. The testing of the solar stove generated 51% energy efficiency, 8.73% exergy efficiency and 123 Watt average stove power.
